North urges activism
Thousands of flag-waving Baptists cheered former national security adviser Oliver North during his June 3 speech at the Southern Baptist Convention Pastor's Conference in Atlanta. North urged the 15,000 Baptists in attendance to become politically active in order to fight back against "a veritable Sodom and Gomorrah on the banks of the Potomac."
